This walk starts early in the morning from the city of La Paz going to Chacaltaya, once the world’s highest ski slope which has disappeared due to global warming. At 5400 m.a.s.l. this is a fabulous place to walk and look out over the city of La Paz and the surrounding highland plain. You can see Illimani, and Lake Titikaka and Sajama on a clear day. From Chacaltaya descend to the Zongo Valley pass to Lake Zongo with a good view of the snow-capped Huayna Potosí. Walk to the base of Huayna Potosí or continue on through the Zongo Valley to have a delicious snack.
