EDUARDO AVAROA NATIONAL RESERVE
At a convenient time transfer from San Pedro de Atacama to Hito Cajón for an unforgettable trip across the border enjoying stunning scenery dominated by the Licancabur Volcano. One of the jewels of the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve -the Green Lagoon- is one of the high points of our expedition in a 4×4 vehicle. The strange beauty of this lagoon is really like no other in the world. On the way out of the Green Lagoon we enter a wide landscape: the Desert of Dali, pass by the hot springs of Polques, in the afternoon arrive at the salt flats and visit the salt flats enjoying the sunset with a Bolivian wine and gourmet products. 01 OVERNIGHT IN HOTEL OJO DE PERDIZ
After breakfast we will set off for the Stone Tree and Laguna Colorada where you will be able to see flamingos and where they nest. Their cries mix in with the icy wind making this desolate space even more eerie. We will continue on to the salt flats via Colchani, a small community where the salt is processed. Lunch in the middle of the salt flats.
01 OVERNIGHT IN SALT HOTEL
After breakfast we drive to the middle of the salt flats to see the “eyes”, salt mountains and salt blocks and visit Incahuasi Island to marvel at the huge cacti growing there. Lunch in the middle of the salt flats. This singular route takes us once again into one of the world’s most isolated areas where we will be alone surrounded by a glittering white landscape. Later we transfer to Uyuni. From here there are several choices, take a direct flight to La Paz city. Continue the exploration to Potosi and Sucre. Or going southern to Villazon or Tarija near Argentinian border.
